Recording an Audio CD?
on: November 21, 2009, 04:41:40 PM
I'm preparing to record a music supplement, but most schools want CD's rather than DVD's, which I know how to make. What kind of equipment do I need to do this? Do you guys have suggestions for preferred microphones, etc.? I can record mp3 files on a laptop, but I'm not sure that this is ideal.
It all happens on Discworld, where greed and ignorance influence human behavior... and perfectly ordinary people occasionally act like raving idiots.

A world, in short, totally unlike our own.

Well, what sort of quality do you want? If you want a nice job, rent someone to record it for you - someone who will have professional microphones, recording equipment, editing facilities etc. etc. If you want a so-so job, beg, borrow or steal from kind of semi-pro microphones and a USB interface to plug them into your laptop digitally, and good luck to you!
Instrumentalists are all wannabe singers. Discuss.
