MP3 instead of MIDI
on: December 20, 2009, 01:07:42 AM
I have a Yamaha DGX620, and I found out how to record the pieces I play.  However, they can only be in MIDI Format 0, so they don't have the same pitch (Live! Grand Piano, Live! Warm Piano, etc) in the computer or in other device unless the recording comes back to the keyboard/piano.

Is there a way to record the playing but for MP3 or in WAV?

In the back of the piano should be some audio leads (like what you see on a DVD player, the red and white i dunno exactly what is behind your model) you put a lead from that into a computer mic port (and run a WAV recording program), or another recording device. That cuts out the air component to a recording, otherwise you can simply put a recording device in the room while you play.

Don't get too complicated, use the head phone jack output and plug into the LINE input of your chosen recording device. If you only have one output then plug your headphones into the headphone jack of your recorder.
