A fugue and 2/3 of a sonata in one week
on: December 21, 2009, 08:42:57 AM
Hi everyone, I'm new to this website so i hope i'm not being rude or anything...
I was wondering what is the best Bach fugue to learn and perfect by Feb? And if that is virtually possible in the first place (although I'll have to do it anyways...)
(regarding the 2/3 sonata thing in my title, it's just that i have to find the 2nd movement of a  hadyn sonata that i'm playing...)
A man once asked a taxi driver how to get to Carnegie Hall. The driver said: "Practice, practice, practice!"
:D

Richter learned the complete wtk, both 1 and 2, in like 2 month or something. So it's possible. But for a normal person to learn in 2 weeks? Uhm... probably the one in g major from from wtk 2. But really, 2 weeks is way to soon for making it perfect.

Dear airanimechiic,

Why the deadline?  Is it for a competition?

If you have to work on this sort of a time-frame, you would help yourself to start with to choose a three-voiced fugue.  Which of the WTC have you worked on already?

Best wishes,
Jean-Baptiste Morel
