The Last Battle (Original Composition)
on: December 22, 2009, 03:11:00 AM
Hello everyone,

This is an original composition that i wrote earlier this year and since it is my most recently posted one, I would like to know what you think of it because it is closest to the stuff I am writing now.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks!

          Sincerely,
                  Daniel

It's a nice melody, but the problem I see with it is that the song is overly simple and repetitive. I felt like after about half-way through I'd already heard enough. What I would suggest is adding in some interesting variation and changes of key, melody, etc. to keep the listener's attention. Also, you should work on your interpretation. It would sound better if you could make more effective use of the pedal, rubato and emotional playing.
Working on:
Beethoven - Waldstein Sonata
Bach - C minor WTC I
Liszt - Liebestraume no. 3
Chopin - etude 25-12

Thank you so much for the critiquing.  I will definitely be working on it in future compositions.  I have a few going right now that I think could be actually about just what you said I should work on.  We'll see what happens with it.  I was planning on recording all of these over again with a better camera as well, so I will try to work on all of that with my songs.
