Composition inspired from improvisation
on: December 30, 2009, 08:37:11 AM
Here is another composition I wrote, my first in fact, which came from my time spent in improvisation. I know these don't really qualify as improvisations, but there is no forum for compositions (maybe someone should make that happen?) and most compositions come from doodling at the piano. This is a waltz. I'm not sure why I chose to write a waltz. It was just there in my brain and wouldn't leave until I spent some time with it. I find it to be an entertaining piece and hope it brings joy to those who listen. BTW, I am not playing this. I wrote it in Finale and just exported it to WAV and converted to MP3 so it sounds a little mechanical. I am just a novice piano player at this point and this comp. became to technically difficult for me to play after I built upon the basic melodies and motifs. Finale does a decent job with it but it does sound much better when a human plays it (I had my piano instructor play it for a comp. recital). Enjoy!
