hello?

I was wondering,
Vivaldi is long gone, so copying his music wound not be illegal. But what if said music is in a book, and the book is copyrighted by the publisher?

As long as the Edition was Copyrighted before 1980, i guess that would be acceptable in most Countries.

yeah, but what if say a printer takes music that's old as dirt and prints a copy in their new book this year, which they take the liberty to copyright. isn't there something wrong with that? I mean, if I take public domain music and say, I printed it, so you can't copy it.
Bottom line: would it be infringement to scan in the music that annie5 is requesting, and post it for free?

My understanding is that some artistic effort must be made in order to secure a copyright on an out of copyright work.

Bloody minefield.
