I found the original Doucet version but I think Hamelin arr. sounds better... but I couldn't find it on the internet. If it is a published and somebody knows the publisher, that would be a great help, too.

I have two editions of this piece. One is in C# minor and the other is in C minor.
Which key was it originally written for?

Could you post the C sharp minor edition? I have only seen the C minor edition. The original piece is in C sharp minor, so it would make more sense for it to have been originally written in that key, unless Doucet wanted to make the key change another part of the novelty. Also, my suspicion is that Hamelin just made a few small emendations to Doucet's C sharp minor score, ones that can be picked up by ear.

Oh absolutely... what Hamelin does is here and there some small changes. I'm just being lazy :)
