Divine Intervention Method
on: January 11, 2010, 05:17:09 AM
I really dreamt that one day I will be a composer but opportunity blurrs me so.

THe Philippine music industry is one of the weakest, penniless, boring, unemotional, cold, retrogressive, and the most unoriginal in world music.

Philippine Films put less importance on scoring.
There are no distinct characteristics between one Philippine band (or musician) to another.
Just many Filipino person dreams of becoming an artist and lose their career 6 months or a year later because nobody listens to their songs.

WORSE, The songs which they are singing are mostly adaptations of 1950's songs.
THere are just translated into Filipino.

I am here, and I exist for music.
I will make music that is beautiful and with emotion.
I really do not want to be an artist but they don't realize that every good artist have a good songwriter working behind them.

Since Philippine Music Industry is poor, To make good music is to spend my own money.
I will use unconventional instruments. I believe that melody is more important that the meaning of the music.

I wanna win the lottery

I made a follow up research on the life stories of modern musicians are I was able to notice a trend.

#They all composed (at least one composition) dedicated to St. Cecilia.

I want to expose myself to the best Gregorian Chants, Choral works.
But I do not know that much sacred music out there so recoimmend me as many as you can.
I'm still starting to listen to this things.

I wan't to compose a very beautiful composition to her because my future lies on Divine Intervention

Anmy Comments and Suggestions?

If you want to be original, don't follow 'trends'.

Don't rely on the lottery.  You might as well wait outside in the rain with a metal rod in your hand and expect the lightning to strike you and hand you godly power.

Also, you seem to make a DRASTIC change in your approach to a musical future every month or so.

I'd agree though, with reading up on other modern musicians, and how they make a living.  Some stories are very interesting, and you might find similarities; just don't feel that you HAVE to write a divine piece of music in order to become 'famous'.

Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

We'll lucky enough I was able to find to find a way.

SERIOUSLY, I think I can join the conservatory.

Right now, I see a probably good opportunity that can bring me closer to Music.

There is a new course in a conservatory which is a combination of computer science and music.

the name of the course is
Bachelor of Music in Music Technology.

I can still have a job even if it is not related to music.
Maybe, I can work as a call center agent.

It is actually a brand new course.
It only started in 2009 and only  four people took the course.

Actually, It is not a four year music course.
There are something to be studied.

Students must take a preliminary audition in music and it is not only music being studied but also covers computers and Physics.

You never heard this course because it is new.

SEE IT FOR YOURSELF:

https://www.ust.edu.ph/index.php/undergraduate-programs/84-conservatory-of-music.html

Preliminary audition is just so easy compared to other conservatories.
But, They say that Japan have a shortage of musicians.

BTW, I would want to ask if any modern composers have worked outside the country?
