Hi Beginner1011,

Your question appears a bit broad.  It depends on what you want to learn.  Jazz?  Classical?  But as in anything a teacher helps.

Jazz, I see no immediate problem it's just a matter of applying yourself to leaning the notes.  But even in Jazz there are many styles and a teacher would help.

Classical, you will most certainly end up with a floored technique if you don't seek the guidence of a good teacher.

There are many exceptional musicians around are who are self-taught but the rest of us (myself included) need a teacher.

Энтони.

Whenever I have a student that was self-taught and began lessons with me, they still
stumbled in learning the notes because they still needed to learn the notes anyhow.  I would recommend to get a teacher so that you can progress in the manner that would certainly not hinder you and a teacher can get you in the proper books and pieces that you can learn from.   :)
