Avguste Antonov Debut CD To Be Released By Parma/Naxos
on: January 20, 2010, 04:02:17 AM
It seems I am getting many lucky breaks.
The latest one is my agreement with Parma Recordings. Under the agreement, I will be recording and releasing a CD of American music on the Parma Recordings label. Then the CD will be distributed internationally by Naxos.
Currently I am unable to give the name of the composers and/or pieces that will be recorded. Information about the CD contents will be provided on a later date.
The official project document(provided courtesy of Parma) can be found at
https://www.avgusteantonov.com/publicfiles/Avguste_Antonov_Project_Specs.pdf
For those unaware of Parma Recordings and/or Naxos, a bit of information about those two companies:
Parma Recordings is one of the top international labels in the music world. They have released recordings by world famous clarinetist Richard Stoltzman and many other greats. The Parma Recordings products are exclusively distributed internationally by Naxos.
Naxos is an internationally known label with headquarters in Hong Kong and offices worldwide. Naxos has released CD by artists such as Carter Pann, Vladimir Ashkenazy and other world famous artists.
----
Such an important project has some financial obligations. In this case, the whole project cost is set at $8900.
With this note (and official posts on my website), I am launching the official "Antonov Debut CD" fundraiser. I would like to respectfully request for you to consider contributing to this project.
Any amount is welcome and appreciated, however I would like to suggest a minimum donation of $20.
To contribute safely, please visit
https://www.avgusteantonov.com/products.html
and use the appropriate PayPal button
As part of the fundraising, any amount received from purchases of my E-book, purchases of any other of my currently available CDs, and any amount earned from Skype lessons will be used toward the CD funding.
-----
As you may tell, I am very excited about this project and opportunity. Some will say that a cost of $8900 is not something to be excited about, however I would like to point out one thing.
For a label to consider an artist and for a label to agree to release an artist who is not a big name (think Ashkenazy, Radu Lupu) is not something happening often.
As such, I am grateful about Parma's willingness to listen to my proposal and agreeing to work with me.
-----
I would like to finish this note by expressing my thanks for any contributions and thank you for your support.

Mr. Antonov,
It could be luck but is more likely the product of doing many things right. I've listened to your playing in the audition room and viewed many of your posts and observe that you are a musician with much to offer the greater public both in your artistic integrity and your championing of American music in our day. More than that you display noble and unselfish use of your talent and hard work, putting yourself in a position to be a great help to many other artists by offering the learning's of and fruits of your experience - Indeed your dedication is producing great fruit for us all.
What can I say except to congratulate you on this opportunity, and to thank you for your labors and what it means to this community? Please continue to keep us posted, as you do, on your achievements and your new avenues of work. (If I had the technology for Skype, I'd consider taking you up on that...but I'm interested in how that works out for you personally, nonetheless.)
Best,
Dave
