Why don't we have more art around?

I'm thinking the big wall fescos (or whatever they are).  They restore them.  The original artist planned them but someone else was doing the work.  I don't think they're impossibly difficult.  Why aren't there more?

More of what?  To restore?  or more people with skills to restore them?

To make new ones.  I think they know the techniques.  I don't think it's a mystery.  I wonder how much it would cost.
