Mendelssohn's Variations Serieuses Op. 54
on: February 10, 2010, 01:05:32 PM
First post!

So I have almost finished learning all the notes to Mendelssohn's Variations Serieuses, but the beginning of variation 17 has very rapid rolled tenths in the beginning of it, and my little hands are having much difficulty playing them quickly and accurate. Is there a special practice technique for this section, or should I just keep slow practicing and it will eventually get there? (I don't want to drop this piece just because of hand size needed one section... It's by far my favorite Mendelssohn solo piano piece, and one of my all-time favorite pieces period.)

Thanks to anyone who can offer advice on how to better practice this section.
