I'd guess South America somewhere.  Pianowolfi or Thalbergmad would be good people to ask.

Some place with pine trees.  The mountains off to the left look steeper too.  And i was wondering if the clouds meant anything for weather -- like an ocean sitting behind them -- Moist ocean air getting squeezed by the mountains, producing clouds.

And a place where someone mowed the grass?  Is that mowed?

If you click on the lower right on that site, you can get a bigger picture.  There's some kind of housing on that river.  And a road.

I downloaded the pic.  If you right click on the file (maybe online too, I'm not sure) you can see more information about the pic.  If that information is true.  The pic was taken on July 31, 2008, at 2:08pm (whatever time zone that was and IF the camera was set up right).  Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL was the camera.  They used Adobe Photoshop Element 6.0 to save it.    (I was wondering if it could have been a fake picture).  Maybe it's a professional image?

If that date for that pic is right, that's the weather at that place at that time of year.

That site calls it an entry level SRL camera.  I think that's professional level.  Or someone who wants to spend that money -- I think it's at least $500, maybe $2,000 for the camera.  Probably $1,000.

Those pine trees don't match though.  I would bet on South America.

Good photo, I'm almost expecting Maria von Trapp to pop out of the picture or that Poppins woman... but is this really an ad for Plentyoffish.com.

By the way ladies, I am single.

Thanks Littletune.

Looks like Berchtesgaden to me. Wolfi will know if it is.

Seems to look like the view from Hitler's summer house.

Check this pic out.  I searched for "Alps"

https://www.hiren.info/desktop-wallpapers/natural-pictures/swiss-alps-45a

I know this is Valle Leventina in Southern Switzerland. Near the Gotthard Pass. But as for the other one I have no clue. Somehow Alps yes. Maybe South Tirol. Definitely not Königssee.

I was browsing around on Google maps through here.
https://www.panoramio.com/photo/4538316

And through this guy's pics.  Stunning.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/weathermaker/page9/

And if that date on the pic, July 31 2008, is correct, this guy uploaded pics after that date.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/weathermaker/page28/

I've looked through pgs. 1-9 and pg 28 would have been uploaded after July 31, 2008.  Interesting to look through.  This guy seems to have a similar picture taking style.

Could be photo manipulation....I've seen photos that can be altered in this manner....
that grass seems out of place the more I look at the picture....

Actually, the grass does appear to have been cut & pasted.

I think  the evergreen trees has been pasted also... doesn't seem to match with the rest of the background of this photo.

A hotel or ski lodge might cut their grass.

I'm leaning toward it being a legit pic.

Those mountains on the left might help in locating it.

This would be July 31, 2008.  Looks like the sun is from behind and to the right of the photographer, so this is facing east?

That's either a river or lake.  I'm guessing lake.  Maybe with a slight C-shape to it?

And the cluster of housing looks like it has two roads running along it.  A few swirls in the road -- I don't quite understand that.  I don't think those are railroad tracks either.

In looking at the Google maps of that area, there are many lakes.  Many hotels.

Looks like there's a two lane interstate type of road with a curved turnoff exit.

And a smaller road alongside the water.

Kind of looks similar to this.

The colour of the water in that picture kinda looks like the colour of a river Soča (in my country). Kinda blue green :) Well it's probably not Soča on that picture but if anyone wants to see it anyway :) It's really beautiful too!  :)
