Solo in "La Bamba" by Ritchie Valens

Hello everyone. I have to give a performance next week with a guitar player. We will be playing "La Bamba" by Ritchie Valens. He's having a hard time playing the guitar solo, so I'm thinking of doing it. I'm having a hard time finding the notes for the solo, and I was wondering if you could help me? Can't he just wing it?  Nobody will no the difference.  That's the beauty of live performances, you can just say you're putting your own spin on it.
