And definately not London.
Unless you want to be mugged or killed.

Also, being able to speak English will not help you in London.  :'(

Bruges (Belgium) - Wonderful Venice-like, words fail...
Trier (Germany) - Very Roman-historical, Arena, Bathinghouse, Cathedral (organ)...excellent wine-bars...
Düsseldorf (Germany) - Stuffed with modern art musea and modern-art gallery's
Orange (France 'southern France') - Exceptionally charming and very musical...
Berlin (Germany) - Evening and nightlife...

If you permit me to give some advice, make a exceptionally good planning of your trip and try to stick to it (a little bit like 'fingering'), in order to avoid to be stuck in some station in no man's land, to avoid trains that stop every mile in... no man's land, to avoid to lose hours in trainstations waiting for the next train etcetera...   The train is probably the finest way of travelling, but at the same time it can sometimes get deeply boring...

Agreed, Trier is well worth seeing.
If you are religious, the Cathedral also claims to have a nail from the crucifixion.  :-\
EDIT: And they also claim to have Jesus's shroud.  :-X

Some nice "Adult" shops there too.  :D

Vienna is definitely a city worth visiting.
It has everything; Cultures, romance, it has 5 huge shopping streets of 7 km.
There are lots of castles [Including the castle of Sissi] and parcs.
And not to forget; it's a city of music!

Prague, Venice, Rome and Berlin.
If this work is so threatening, it is not because it's simply strange, but competent, rigorously argued and carrying conviction.

Luckily, I live about 5 miles from Tilbury Port where the boat leaves and this is a no fly cruise. I think flying there is horribly costly.

Total cost was about 2500 euros, for a single outer cabin which i think is pretty good.

If you do go to Trier, you must also visit Saarburg (about 10km).

Cannes, France: to just wind down and eat well. Go up the hill in the old city to find every possible type of restaurant at every price. TGV from Paris will get you there for dinner.

Orvieto, Italy: to see a human well and drink some great wine. Look on the side streets for restaurants without menus and eat what they serve you.

Valencia, Spain: to see the Holy Grail in the main cathedral, walking distance from the station. Things have changed in Spain and more English is being spoken. However the local language is Valenciano.

Nearby is Sagunto where Hannibal laid siege.
