Various Chopin Pieces
on: March 17, 2010, 04:16:42 AM
These pieces I've heard weren't lost, but I can't find them:

-Prelude and Andantino Animato Op.A1 No.2/3 in F major (1845)
-Sketches for a brief Prelude and main Theme of a Waltz in a minor (1829)
-Mazurka (Mazur) BI 39 in G major (On the setting of a poem by Ignac Macicowski) for Vaclav Hanka "Jakiez kwiaty, jakie wianki"
-Mazurka KK Ve/4 in B-flat major (1835) (MS sold in Paris June 20, 1977)
-Allegretto and Mazurka KK VIIb/7-8 in A major and D minor (?) (MS sold in Paris November 21, 1974)
-Waltz Ve/10 in ? (?) (Listed in auction catalogue, Paris, March 1906)

Please, if you know anything about a recording or sheet music of any of these pieces, please reply!
And any other sheet music or recording of a very rare Chopin piece you can find would be okay to.

Hey! I found a recording of Prelude and Andantino Animato. The problem is, the website it is on is harmful, and I even heard 3 very bad reviews of it on the Norton security site. I don't think anyone should bother to go to that website, just for two very rare pieces by Chopin.
Currently working on:
*Prelude, Op.23 N.4 (Rachmaninoff)
*Prelude & Fugue in F major, WTC II (Bach)
...not fully decided on what else to start (most likely will be a Liszt, Schubert, or Medtner)...

Those are among a handful of Chopin pieces that I've never seen either, though they're cited on lists like this one at Wikipedia as having been published at some point in time.

A prominent Chopinist named Jeffrey Kallberg posts from time to time on another piano forum; if anyone is familiar with these obscurities, I reckon he would be.  If you google Dr. Kallberg's name, you'll find his home page at the website of the university where he teaches, along with contact information.

If you find any answers, please report back with an update.  Enquiring minds want to know!  :)

Perhaps one single post advertising your website and its search capability would be sufficient instead of the six posts you've made so far today that are identical in content.

Unless you're certain that the composition(s) sought can actually be found via your site—and these by Chopin cannot—you're just spamming.
