Schott Spring Piano Series 2010
on: April 02, 2010, 08:57:18 AM
After the success of the inaugural 2009 series, we are pleased to announce the exciting programme for 2010. Again, over April and May, pianists will be arriving in London from across Europe to take part in the series which juxtaposes cornerstones of piano literature – such as Pictures at an Exhibition, Chopin’s four Ballades and Ravel’s Sonatine – with rarely heard, titanic masterworks like Alkan’s solo Concerto, Rachmaninoff’s Chopin Variations and Godowsky’s Java Suite.
Nine pioneering musicians from eight countries – including five composer-pianists – will present programmes of the type that simply can’t be heard in most concert halls.
All concerts start at 6.30pm.
Tickets are available on the door: £10, £7 concessions.

Judging by the You Tube performance of the Thalberg, I am having second thoughts.
