Help with a song
on: April 08, 2010, 06:31:14 PM
I was wondering if anyone out there can help me with a song that's been in my head. I've been dying to find the sheet music for it, but I have no clue what it is. It sounds Russian to me - deep and intense. Attached is a few bars. Hopefully someone can hum or play it and recognize it! Not sure if you can really tell what the notes are: it is in the key of D major. The first four notes are dotted quarters: G.  E.  F sharp.  D.  Then four eighth notes: GFsharpED two quarters: E A two dotted quarters: F sharp.  C sharp.  The notes are probably not right, but it's a guess and the melody sounds right to me.

Strange, I know that too, I think it's from a Charlie Chaplin movie (don't remember which one), so probably it has been composed by Charlie Chaplin himself.
