Hey everyone,

I've had some trouble with fluidity, speed, dexterity, eveness of fingers etc.. for some time so I decided to learn Solfeggietto as it was a piece, not too challenging yet specifically targeting some of my weaknesses. I've more or less got it now (not withstanding a few lumps) but I would like to continue work in this vein. Can anyone recommend pieces similar in technique and difficulty (a little harder is fine) that might help me move on. I enjoy the exchange between hands and would like to work towards something like Rachmaninoff Prelude Op.23 No.7.

On a side note I've recently been reading C. Changs book which I have enjoyed and think it has allot of relevance to me. I've actually been playing piano for about 10 years classical and jazz although my tuition has been patchy, informal and not much focus on technique, also the last 3 years I've barley done any serious practice nor have I had a piano teacher. Unfortunately I can't afford one just now but Chang's book has given me a new found motivation and I feel some of it is paying off...the thumb over is certainly very helpful ...everything about my approach before this falls victim to what he considers bad and intuitive methods. Anyway, I know there is plenty on the forum regarding views of this book. Just a bit of context.

Piece recommendations and suggestions most appreciated. Thanks allot guys. I love this forum. ;D

You might try Schuberts Impromptu Op 90 No. 2 in Eb. The first section has a lot of scale work that you can work on making smooth and even. It's harder than the CPE Bach, but if you just have fun with it and use it as a vehicle to work on clean, even scales it could be what you're looking for.

What about burgmuller's progressive etudes, Op 100? they're about the same level and designed to teach technique.
