What to choose for non-musical audience?
on: April 23, 2010, 02:47:13 PM
I know there was a topic like this but I still need your opinions- I'm basically a piano student - but at my little sisters school there is a show kinda thing, and they take a guest every year- It's a little school- but somehow 290 people voted for me to be the guest star (: O) but I'm actually known like her " funny-friendly-awesome bro" (she told they call me that!) I also make random vids so yea they know me but no idea I'm really a piano student. They told me it's a musical thing. But What should I play? I'm going to play to kids grade 6-12. I dont think they would really get Bach/Mozart or Chopin, I'm thinking bout Bartok, what do you think- impresive bright and fast ..

What's in your repertoire to choose from? I would recommend playing some traditional classical music, but if you know a popular song from today that they all would know or at least some sort of show tune, they'll really enjoy that and will probably appreciate the other works better too.
Then again, I don't know your exact situation.
