music style help

i play piano and i make beats, im intermedia level, but im having a problem, how do i learn to do different styles of music.   is it based on the cord progression? im trying to do epic type sounds and other types of genres like funk and stuff.

Go to jams devoted to those styles.

No. Jam sessions are where you interact with people of your own age who get together to just play a certain style. Out of these jams musicians form bands and network with each other. This is the way most of us learn how to play funk, blues, rock, etc. Some play along with recordings to get the feel.

Even if you could find someone to teach you, it would be an expensive and lengthy experience.

You need to discover your local musical community. That's the best advice I can give.

thanks man for the help, i guess im bout to be on a long quest, but i know i will figure it, im probably gone run into it like all the rest of music thoery.
