Happy Birthday sheet music
on: May 04, 2010, 01:46:17 PM
Does anyone have a link to a not so elementary version of Happy Birthday?   I thought it would be fun to learn a version of it to play, but I'm not gonna lie... I have no talent for figuring these things out myself.   Unfortunately, my teachers I had in childhood never even touched on theory.   Not sure if I'd be able to get anywhere myself anyway... I'm a complete "follow the recipe" cook, "follow the sheet music" player.   Sad, huh?
Currently learning:
Chopin Prelude Op. 28, no. 15
Schubert Sonata in A Major, D.959: Allegretto

Hehe, that's not nearly as sad as the reason for which you're not likely to find the dressed-up arrangement you're looking for (or any other arrangement) of this song unless you're prepared to pay for it.  Believe it or not, it isn't public domain—and Time Warner actively enforces its copyright!

Here are a few good links that explain the situation; you'll find more if you Google "happy birthday" copyright.

Ugh!  Time Warner!!!!  I'm so glad I switched to Fios.  Pre-emptive revenge.

Thanks.  :-)

Hehe, well, as weird as the copyright thing is, I have to say that I had outstanding service in every way from Time Warner as a cable and internet provider when I lived in the city.  Now, in the burbs, with a different provider ... not so outstanding.  :(
