Chopin's unpublished mazurkas
on: May 05, 2010, 06:46:53 PM
Does anyone know where to find the sheet music for Chopin's unplublished Mazurkas? I looked both here and on imslp.org, but I couldn't find them. I'm particulary looking for the one in G major and Bb Major. Thanks!

I'm not certain what "unpublished" means in this context, as it implies unavailability.

Wikipedia's article about Chopin's Mazurkas contains a comprehensive chart of every composition in that genre and all information known about them:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazurkas_%28Chopin%29#List_of_mazurkas

It would be helpful if you could identify the specific ones you're referring to.  Except for a couple that apparently remain in private collections and a handful that have never been located, all the posthumous ones have indeed been published and can probably be located.

They probably all have been published, but I think there is 8 or 9 without any opus number. So I'm basically talking about the mazurkas not available on pianostreet. These are the last ones on the list on wikipedia also. I just couldn't find the sheet music anywhere, at least not for download.
