I played this piece for a number of music festivals. It is pretty easy to memorize. The hardest part is playing with absolute sincerity. This is the kind of Liszt that requires no mannerisms whatsoever, or the whole thing is ruined. It was also difficult to keep developing the phrasing, so it builds up to the highly orgasmic "Molto appassionato" on bar 39. Just remember you need to keep moving forward, keep telling the story...dont dwell on any one note for too long, as it isnt in style. If you want to listen to a bad recording of it, listen to Jorge Bolet. If you want a great recording, listen to Tzimon Barto. Horowitz has a very interesting interpretation of it, but unless you are him, you wont get away with it.
What kind of troubles do you see yourself in?-fingering,...etc. Please give bar numbers, and I will help you all I can.

On interpretation alone:
Imagine yourself heartbroken, forlorn and throbbing in sorrow. Imagine yourself sobbing, singing out all your heart to your lost love. Touch yourself to tears while playing this piece . . .
That is the only way to unleash the music in this piece.
