(VIDEO) Smetana - En Bohême, Scène champêtre (Réves)
on: May 29, 2010, 04:23:10 PM
Live 19th February 2010, Litomyšl, Czech Republic
The third part of Réves, the most "classic" part of this cycle. It describes Smetana´s nostalgic memories of Czech lands....

Thank you for posting this. I love Smetana
This is very soulful music and it has to be played from the soul. At the moment it seems that you have learnt the notes very well, but they still keep you very busy, so you have not so much capacity left for living in the music. I suggest to work especially on dynamics, and especially on the p and pp! Since as it is now there is not yet so much difference. And a lot of the beauty of this music reveals through the p parts and subtlety!
One more thing: Those sextuplet runs might get clearer if you losen your wrist, I think. Well it's difficult to see on a video, but my impression is that your wrist is a bit too stiff.

Yes, I also think that I wanted to play it mainly virtuoslo, but it misses a bit of those "nostalgic memories"
About those sextuplet runs - my wrist wasn´t stiff, but I played those notes too concretely...
