Just wondering.

And I'm being lazy by not shopping.  ::)  I have other things to do.  Like surf Piano Street of course.

If I wanted to be stronger or grow more muscle (if that's much different than strengthening what's already there), do I have to eat protein?  More than normal?  If I didn't eat any does my body figure out (body alchemy?) how to turn grains/fruits/vegetables into muscle?

I don't eat any grains.  I recently discovered casava - it has just a little more nutrition than cardboard but has its uses.

It depends.

You need protein to build muscle.

Most of us are eating an excess anyway.  So we wouldn't need to add any.

Some of us are right at the balance point.  In that case you wouldn't build muscle unless you added protein.

Yes. Carbs and fat are just fuel. Your actual body, including muscles, is made up of protein. If you eat no protein obviously you can't build new muscle. But the good thing is, protein is in almost everything and normal diet has 3x as much protein as you normally need.
