Need help with Theory
on: June 11, 2010, 05:03:48 PM
I need a book that has info on piano theory. The book I am using only touches base on theory a bit. I know my notes and such but I want more info on things like time signatures, the pentascale etc. When I read the music, I know what to do but my knowledge and understanding of terminology is not the same as those on this board.

I use the ABRSM music in theory practice work books coupled with the AB guide to music theory by Eric Taylor (ISBN 1-85472-446-0).  Quite cheap and do the job.

Hi !

You have many information on Wiki. All you have to do is a search in Google with the good term.

Exemple :
wiki music scale
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_scale

wiki music theory
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_theory

Etc.
