4th fingers
on: July 03, 2010, 04:14:30 PM
Hi.

I haven't had any injuries yet, but if they come, they'll come almost certain because of my 4th fingers.

They are stiff as a stick (I can almost not curve it without using the whole arm), and I have trouble reaching a third between 3 and 4. I'll ask my teacher next time I have a lesson, but I'd be happy if someone here could give me some  tips.

So basically: Stretching exercises and something that makes it a lot more flexible.

Thx

Sounds like your fingers need some rest, and stretching excercies are far from smart if you dont know what the problem is.
Go see some who does, dont experiment on yourself if you like playing the piano.

Hi! Stretching is always good....slowly. Remember that the 4th and 5th fingers share a common tendon. Ask in the commuinty if there is a hand specialist and has worked with musicians. We are lucky to have a doctor here that does. Also talk with a physical theapist. Be kind to your hands and dont force anything.....seek professional advice.
