No... However - this guy can.

This isn't me playing, but after my exam is over, this is a piece that I want to chew on.    ;D

Okay, since you had a serious reply about my Mozart, I'll do the same.

You obviously want to be a good pianist, since you try to play all these  very difficult pieces.
I don't know what your teacher has told you, but you wont develop the slightest if you keep playing like this. You wont get accepted to any conservatory, or any competition, and none probably wants to listen to a full concert with this standard.

What happened to the Chopin Ballade, no 3, and that Beethoven sonata? Both of them were on their way to a standard. And what about the masterpieces with not so many notes?

And according to some of your replies, you know quite a lot about music. Why don't you follow your own advice and play something very good, or none will ever take you seriously.

You DO realise... I've already said this to him - multiple times...

This WAS before I started verbally mocking him for his audible lumps of sh!t...

I also suggest not that long ago to practice a song until he believed it to be near performance level - did he do it? NO!

And the sad thing is - he ignores what I say as if I'm some crank, despite the fact that I USED TO BE JUST LIKE HIM!!! I used to play hard pieces, and I used to play them like sh!t... but in the last few years, my piano teacher has shown me that there is NO respect in doing so and helped me to aim for a higher level of pianism.

So if you slightly compare your own recording to one of the serious ones on youtube, dont you agree that your playing is quite a mess?

GUYS! Sorry to disappoint you; we've all been duped. Slow's been laughing at us for a long time! This is no slow pianist. It is all a hoax. Anyone who could cover this repertoire, even to just sight read it, would by now know enough not to post such stuff. This is all a joke, and the recordings are obviously deliberately screwed up. And Slow is having the time of his life reading our stupid (serious) comments, and laughing at them with his friends. Listen carefully. You'll see what I mean. I just listened to the 3rd Ballade. It's actually quite funny... Wake up!

No, Birba. Listen to the 3rd Ballade, especially toward the end. There is not one correct note. And the comment about "charm and musicality." It's right out of Monty Python. Check this out:

As bizarre as it all is, I don't believe it's a joke.  I think Dunning-Kruger effect and other more serious mental afflictions are very apparent, both in the real world and in this virtual one.

I agree. It's too real to be a joke. In my life I've met some people like him.

It's a pity because I personally see he has some talent that is been wasted, wasted on playing awfully 1.000 pieces instead of playing 5 fine. But if he don't want to realize... good for him.

And I agree with you there.  He has shared significant knowledge of music history and performance practices, but his credibility is unfortunately compromised by his recordings, posturing and attitude.

Haha oh god; he uses 'swing' sixteenths for the first part of the piece!!!  Wow this is bad.

Or... he's ACTUALLY an insanely good pianist, and is deliberately playing like absolute crap  ;)

For either scenario (legit sucking at the piece OR messing with us), it takes a huge dumba$$ to accomplish this.
Interested in discussing:

-Scriabin Sonata 2

You guys are too serious. And pay attention only to the notes. Read also the text. Like the word "corrected" that appears all the time. Don't you see how funny it is? The Internet is full of avatars.
OK, Slow, come clean. Post a video, show us your face, give us your bio. Gig is up! Tell us who your are. We can take a joke.

I've also noticed he throws the pebble into the pond, and then withdraws his hand, so to speak.  He never really comes back to rebuke all the criticism.  Every once in a while he will say something like "poor recording equipment helps with the interpretation" or something similarly bizarre.  His last post in the mozart criticism of pianisten is especially crytic...
Yep, you just might have something there.

I'm sure. For one, anybody who simply played through all this music would sight read better than that by now.
Let's make this the last thread we pick up on. I won't click on another Slow link until I have the full story from Slow himself. Or herself?..

You COULD play very well (in a matter of a few years). The problem is that you DON'T want to. Why don't you try playing Bürgmuller Op 100 or Bertini and play them very well instead of attempting  a super virtuoso piece that is evident to all (must be obvious also to you) that YOU CANNOT AFFORD YET? I know it's useless to give you advices but maybe some day you'll want to listen...

With all my sympathy to you and respect, I'm more than 20 years older than you and I met in European conservatories, master classes and competitions many kinds of people and I also met some "aficionado" players and people who slipped into the conservatory (invited unofficially by a professor or something). I also had some pupils (young and adult) with a completely unjustified divo attitude (and an obvious lack of humility and... self hearing). I can assure you that I personally met at least 3 or 4 persons (those who I can remember) who matches the behaviour of this person almost exactly so I respect your opinion (of course  ;) ) but I also disagree. IMHO this is not a fake.

(To the moderator: with all my respect and if he doesn't get bothered by this request, please don't delete this thread. It took some time to everyone to elaborate and write the posts).

I wish that the other recordings by members on pianostreet received as much attention as this rubbish. Maybe then we would get better content and less attention seekers.

Of course, I cannot be sure, 1976. But won't we look VERY SILLY if this turns out to be a joke? This is why I say, let's stop responding to these posts at least until we know for sure just who Slow is. Let's make this the last thread from Slow that we click, until Slow comes clean, on this thread! If it's a joke, ok, we'll all have a laugh and get it over. If it proves serious, the teachers among you at least can give serious thought and advice.

i personally enjoyed two things here:
1. last few chords, which i think are in character and well played.
2. audible page turning. don't usually hear it in a recording, hence abit refreshing.
dignity, love and joy.

The last chords have no authority to them, they are merely poked at, missing the character required imo but it is musically balanced with the quality of the rest of the recording at least.
