Maybe Nils can say something like 'thread (or reply) removed by admin' or w/e if he felt he had to, so we dont have to keep searching.

He sends a private message.  I recently had thread removed.  It was a sheet music search engine.  I hadn't seen it before and hadn't looked into it yet.  Nils said it would find copyrighted material and took the thread down.

I still like the idea though.  Then everyone would know something was there but was removed.

Thanks for your suggestion. Although this is a quite rare problem we will consider improving the routines for informing about moderator actions such as for example deleted topics.

Yes, I think it would be nice that instead of removing a topic or post, the admin would edit said post or topic with the message "[removed by admin nilsjohan]" or something like that. That is what I do on the forum that I moderate and it works without a hitch. I don't see why it wouldn't work here. Frankly, it also seems to be more polite to the users, who might go searching for what someone said.
