I guess I'm a sucker for this kind of music also $:-\$

But I do very much agree with you - the original has so much more depth and profundity in its simplicity; a truly moving musical delight. It's my summer project, this cello sonata, but ah, I feel the real trouble will be getting the cellist to commit to it
