Help for short fingers, big palm
on: July 17, 2010, 02:26:11 AM
I know this sounds silly.. but.. does anyone know a way where I can exercise my fingers and stretch them out bit by bit? I have very short fingers (I can barely reach a 9th and avoid doing so because I really can't press anything in between).
Help will be appreciated

Pieces that I'm currently studying (in order of priority):
1. Debussy - Arabesque no. 1
2. Mozart - 12 Variations
3. Debussy - Clair de Lune
4. Beethoven - Moonlight

Well, I guess you should read the "piano-yoga", or whatever it's called, by Horowitz's granddaughter. There's a new thread regarding this book. And on the site, you can read about the method of small hands obtaining a greater span. In my opinion, an octave is the minimum stretch. De La Rocha had miniscule hands. But, boy, could she rip Scarbo apart.
