This is usually a classical room, but I commend you for posting a very nice interpretation of Lady Gaga's song Pokerface.  I heard a recording of her playing it on piano, and it was a bit more aggressive and hard-edged, and I think that is something yours could use.  You do a good job of replicating the notes, but it loses a bit of the character in my opinion.

Thank you for keeping the content of the Audition Room interesting, and posting things to which you gave real effort.  Too often the top posts of this room are depressing renditions of the most standard repertoire, which get all the responses, because people like to feel superior perhaps.

It is a sad day when our colleagues cannot focus on what makes the piano great, and only laugh at it when it sounds bad.

Very cool arrangement.  I love hearing people's original arrangements of songs.  Please post more of these.

Thanks a lot Floydcramer, glad you enjoyed my rendition of this song. I am trying to knock myself out while doing these:). Do not hesitate to check my last post "I gotta feeling" (if you haven't checked it already). Best

I don't like that song, but if this cover is any indication, you'll probably rock it out.

lol thanks you'll tell me how it sounds to you. It is funny because I am not crazy either about those Black Eyed Peas or Lady gaga songs but in the other way I find that doing piano covers of these can be a good exercise.

Usually the Gaga song makes me stabby, but you actually managed to make it sound cool, probably because your arrangement didn't have the suck that is Autotune.

Thanks, I can probably understand your reaction:), the only times I had to listen to it repeatively was to do the piano cover!

I think if I ever decide to learn to play it, I can listen to your cover instead, lol.

Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
