Well, the Aria of course! Little soothing melody that just sets your mind for all the magic that is about to come.
Bach - Partita No.2
Scriabin - Etude 8/12
Debussy - L'isle Joyeuse
Liszt - Un Sospiro

Goal:
Prokofiev - Toccata

There are many variations I love, but I'll nominate the "Overture".

My favorite is the Aria. Peter Williams calls it the first variation (though it is technically the theme, I suppose).

Aria.  Then Variation 15, I think...  When Aria returns at the end, it feels very different.  Does this count as two movements??
