Hi all, in case anyone from the forum is interested, I will be giving two recitals of operatic transcriptions as part of this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The venue is St Mark's artSpace (Fringe venue 125), 7 Castle Terrace, Edinburgh EH1 2DP. (Map: https://ed.thestage.co.uk/venues/st-marks-artspace )

The programme will be as follows:

Meyerbeer-Kullak: Cavatine from Robert le Diable
My compositions: Fantasy on Bellini's La Sonnambula
                        Transcription of Meditation from Thais
Wagner-Liszt: Fantasy on themes from Rienzi

=============== Intermission ===================

Wagner-Liszt: Isolde's Liebestod
Verdi-Martucci: Fantasy on La forza del destino
Bellini-Thalberg: Casta diva
My composition: Fantasy on themes from Robert le Diable

Concert date and times are Aug 26, at 2000, and Aug 29, at 1715. Tickets are £7; concessions are available.

If anyone's interested in coming along, pm me, or post in this thread!

Looks interesting.

I wager the Kullak has not been played in 100 years.

Good luck old chap.

You know, I haven't been to the Ed Fest in years, and you're making me regret that I only the other day bought plane tickets which will ensure I'm 2000 miles away when that takes place! best of luck with it, I hope it gets a good audience.
Instrumentalists are all wannabe singers. Discuss.

I hope this is recorded.

I am wetting my knickers in anticipation of the Kullak.

Thanks, both of you, for the good luck messages. Yes, I intend to record the whole thing, and I'm really rather taken with the Kullak.
