Do you know any piano recordings of BWV 543-548?
on: August 20, 2010, 10:19:22 PM
Hi! I'm looking for good piano recordings of the Liszt transcribed Bach Preludes and Fugues, BWV 543, 544, 545, 546, 547 and 548 (Liszt titled these transcriptions Six Preludes and Fugues).
So far I've only found Leslie Howard's recordings of the complete set, but I found it a bit too, um... square and angular? (I don't like how he chops up what could've been cantabile phrases into a series of notes where the first beat always is accented etc.)
Does there exist any other recordings of all these pieces on piano? BWV 543 seems popular in comparison to the others since it is the only one I've been able to find.
