ABOUT PIANO GRADE 5

HI everyone,

   Im new to this forum and i am currently in grade 5 piano moving on to grade 6. Just to ask if i am able to jump to grade 8 straight away ? This have been one of my thoughts recently, can anyone please clarify with me or suggest. Thanks. (:

Yep.  It was the only grade I did.  It was a prerequisite for doing the diploma.

Well, i wonder if my teacher would allow me to jump to grade 8 from here, cos she said that i would miss quite a lot of things i wonder what...

It depends - which system are you doing your exams through? AMEB, ABRSM, Trinity... what?

No.  Meaning I only did grade 8 ABRSM.

I only did that so I could do a DipABRSM in performance - which I then got.  I've been supposedly working on the next diploma but kinda got a little ill-disciplined.
