ok here's a comment: Bravo!
Congratulations on tackling this transcription; i've heard it's a difficult piece.
I have also had the opportunity to play on nine-foot bechstein's and they are pretty effing incredible eh?
best,
Rob

I confess, I started to listen to it twice before, today I started to listen to it again. but I just can't get past the first few minutes. You have an impressive technique and beautiful tone (helped by that incredible Bechstein) but that's it. Where is the elan, the sweep and brio of this masterpiece? It's so measured and careful the way you play it, it almost comes across as a miniature. Come on! I know it sounds trite to say "let your hair down", but you really have to let yourself go. You certainly don't have any technical impediments. You've got to grasp the spirit of this piece. In the hands of an artist, it's a kaleidoscope of colors and infectious rythm and makes you want to get up and dance!

thanks for writing, rob47 and birba!
to be honest, i found the touch of the bechstein a bit too light, which creates a big sound with every minute touch... maybe i am just not used to the instrument. have been practising mostly on yamahas!
i do agree that it's a far from perfect performance, especially after watching the "real" artists' videos of the piece. i would think that the front parts of the piece needs to done with more care, especially the soft sections, and the last few pages more "crazy", or as u put it, "let your hair down"!
that said, i did only spent 4 weeks learning the piece before the performance. will be repeating the piece in another concert next week. hopefully a better one!
