How to make a professional looking concert flyer?

Could anyone recommend a program (software) to make professional looking concert flyers?  I have been using microsoft word for a long time and feel the need to use something different.

I work at a printers and our designer uses Quark, but i think that is rather complex.

Something like Micrsoft Publisher would probably be a lot easier, but still give good results.
