Of course it's a plea for attention, as evidenced by the calculated alteration in the language of the post since yesterday to something more dramatic and provocative.

Initially it said that all comments were welcomed (and I don't recall "radically different rendition" being in the subject line, either); apparently when there were no responses, it was deemed necessary to proclaim that this is the performance of a "genius."

It's unlikely that competent musicians would be envious of someone who is not, or that rational people with normal communication skills would be envious of someone whose YouTube persona is so aggressively bizarre.

s_c_p might not be the most conspicuous case of Dunning-Kruger effect here after all.
