Does anyone have any good experience insulating or covering in some way hot water baseboard heat? I don't have a wall without baseboard heat that I could put my upright piano next to so I have to make do.

I was thinking about stuffing fiberglass insulation around the tubing...any other ideas? My piano is about 9" away from the wall.

Some people think it's not a big deal to have a piano in front of a heater...Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, fibreglass or, if it's literally just pipes with water in, some of the plastic foam jacketing that's applied to industrial pipes either to stop them freezing (outdoors) or to stop me losing heat (when they're carrying hot water from one location to another.

Deflecting the heat away from a piano is a good idea. Yes, it is a big deal. I laid a piece of carpet remnant over my baseboard behind my upright. Baseboard heat is not really that intense like a steam or hot air radiator, so it worked pretty well. I use a humidifier in the room too.
