on: October 16, 2010, 03:48:31 AM
I'm sorry if this is the wrong section. But I am getting into Pianos.
Are there any pianos for less than $100.00?
please send me websites, and tell me what i need to know about pianos before ordering.

You mean keyboard? You might find a Yamaha or Casio one for $100. Not a great instrument but something. It wouldn't have weighted keys. All that stuff gets cheaper and more powerful all the time though.
You could get a used upright for $100. Some people can't give them away. But then there's tuning needed for an acoustic piano too and that will be over $100 in the course of a year.
Although you said less than $100.... There's not a whole lot and the quality might not be there. Not necessarily a bad thing for someone to mess around with though if you just want to have some with the instrument.
Garage sales, Craigslist, flea markets...
This is what you get for $100...

I wouldn't really recommend any of them though. Yamaha and Casio are probably ok. I wouldn't get an off brand. Cheaper keyboards also don't have the pitches right all the time -- Sometimes they're flat.
Of course if you got a little keyboard you'd still need a stand to place it on. Music to play too. Lessons hopefully.

Check out the Musicians Friend website......

I wouldn't recommend going as low as $100.00 but that's me. I use a Yamaha PSR 413 keyboard and it does fine. Good price, excellent sound and touch sensitive keys. Very important to get either weighted or touch sensitive keys! Hope this helps.....
Good luck, Jimbo
