Waterfall Nocturne, Joe Gargiulo
on: October 19, 2010, 08:58:46 PM
Waterfall Nocturne, published in August 2010, was recorded by me on a Yamaha p85 digital piano. Sorry, there is no acoustic piano or recording equipment here. The piece is 3 pages long, impressionistic style and maybe about grade 5 level (?).
I would very much appreciate any comments about the composition. Is it interesting? Does it feel warm and comfortable or? Is it something you would listen to twice or like to play yourself? Thank you so much for listening.

Very nice easy listening. Like sitting in a very elegant New York night club. (I'm not being facetious! I mean it!) At first, I didn't understand the waterfall title. You expect cascades of notes. But, in effect, you hear that water falling. I think if you played those r.h. passages a little more delicately, it would come out more.

Thank you so much for listening to my music. I appreciate your very generous comments. I am in total agreement with your suggestions about the performance. The piece needs more tenderness and evenness of tone which means more practice time and a real piano. I need to cut back on writing and schedule more practice time.
Thank you again, your post is very helpful.
