Improvisation or something like that
on: October 20, 2010, 07:31:34 PM
After lurking for quite a while on these forums I came upon this Improvisation subsection and it blew my mind. I never thought that improvisations could be this enjoyable. I was very impressed with what you all can do. In fact, it made such an impression on me that I immediately decided that I must give it a try too.

As you may have guessed this post is a result of that decision. These two are not the first improvisations I did, the first were so horrible that I would never dream of presenting them to any kind of audience. But after a while I did a somewhat succesful recording, that should not do too much harm to listeners.

The first improvisation is aptly named Contemplation, because I contemplated for so long if I should even post it. I'm still not sure if it is a good idea, but I'll let you the criticism.

The second improvisation is unnamed because I have no idea what I was thinking while playing it, it just sort of came out.
All truths, not merely ideas, but truthful faces, truthful pictures or songs, are highly beautiful.

A new voice in the improv board,
Welcome :)

I listened with interest and I am happy that you felt encouraged to give it a try.

To me both pieces sound contemplative, I like contemplative stuff :)

Thanks for your comments. I'm really happy you like these little improvisations. I will definitely keep it up. Now that I tasted improvisation, I don't think I would be able to stop even if everyone told me to. In fact I have some I want to post right now.

A late welcome to the forum! I'm very sorry I did not know these sooner, and know you sooner. This is my first listen to your music, and I'm very impressed and delighted to meet you. What an impressive new life to the forum is your voice, with the expressive, ever searching harmonic language. I almost feel like I've been here before...shades of something I cannot quite put my finger on...but I tell you the truth, I could image expanding on such contemplations to the breath of a Feldman hour and never losing the fascination. Please, please do post more for us would you? You got something worthy to be heard. I'm now going to download what I can find and get to know you better. More comments to follow. :)
