Hi

I am currently learning from a beginners book but to be honest I'm getting a little sick of playing things like 'Cockles and Muscles', 'Blow the Man Down' and 'The Can Can'.

I would really love to learn some quite easy classical pieces instead of short pieces that are in my book.

I love Moonlight Sonata but can only play the first few bars and have found this a little too difficult. I quite like fairly upbeat pieces (and have quite enjoyed the Can Can because of it's speed) although end up playing it over and over to make it sound a bit longer!

Many thanks in advance

Try the Anna Magdalena Bach

Stay away from Beethoven sonatas, you'll just make it harder to play them in the future.
Even the moonlight 1st is not easy.
I am perfectly normal, it is everyone else who is strange.

The standard method books usually have some supplement books, like a repertoire or practice book, whatever they want to call them.

You might look for easy classical anthologies.  I'm sure those are out there too.
