Should I stop seeing my teacher?
on: October 30, 2010, 05:06:01 PM
She's my first and only piano teacher. In the beginning, I was learning new things, and she was great for progressing me at the piano. But I am not learning anything at my lessons now. I am just playing pieces for her, or we play pieces together, that is, I play one hand, and she plays one hand. Also she sometimes forgets to bring in music sheets for me =(

However, I am wondering if she still has stuff to teach me. She's kind, encouraging, and respects my opinion. I am not sure what to do.

 ::) :o ;D :D  That's crazy talk!!  8)  Don't talk crazy, talk sanely, like me  :).

Playing music, even if only one hand, with a great teacher is great !  Maybe one of the best exerpiences in the entire universe!  Or being conducted ... that's great, too, but not *quite* as great!  It's a whole other form of communication that you can have ... where else?  Thank you very much, *takes a bow*

I don't know how old you are and whether you are able to judge a teacher's abilitiy.  But it does seem like you've both gotten into a rut - you don't say how long you have been with her, exactly what pieces you are doing now, etc.  A little more information, please!
