Fantasy on tuning
on: November 01, 2010, 07:12:28 AM
Or out of tuning. (I'm short on names).
I apologize for missing Halloween! Perhaps this can fit...perhaps it doesn't need Halloween, but just November, and on and on...
In any case, I think this damaged tape is not the master tape, but I can find none other than this. This spontaneous piece through the years has been one of my favorite, favorite experiments I've taped. The tuning is a result of the Clavinova mixed with a Roland thing (can't be less specific?) which hooks up to the Clavinova with many settings and sounds, including an ability to alter pitch. Nothing is overlapped, it is all real time experimentation. I don't know the date, but suppose it to be around 8-11 years old. Time keeps moving leaving behind this old ago of fresh creativity.
Enjoy!

That sounds really cool! Reminds me a bit of Gamelan music. And Quartertone composition.

Thanks Wolfi! Gamelan music is a good comparison. For some reason I never went as far as quartertone...I guess it would have been too even.
