A Song i'm Writing
on: November 16, 2010, 01:40:13 AM
Hey, im writing my own song. I don't really know where to go from here. :/ I uploaded to versions. One in C minor and the other in E minor. Dont know which key ill play it in yet. This isn't the beggining, but it is the main theme. I'd love some suggestions.
Whoops, accidently posted them twice.

I like it very much. It does sound better in e minor, by the way. Are you going to put words to it?

No, no words. just music. Honestly im leaning towards c minor, but i guess that could change as i write more.

I like it very much too. Keep working on it everyday don't leave it alone. You will always get something even if you are not sure it's what you want at the moment. Put down some notes and edit later. This way you may get some ideas for a "B" section or another piece. Keep the process going. Great start, you almost have an "A" section complete.
Thanks for sharing. I will watch for your next recording.

I like this piece. I'm going to have to go with C minor. I'm hardly an expert but this is my feeling based on what I have heard regarding "color hearing". To me the "color" fits the piece in C minor. Sometimes I feel as there can be only one key of any given piece based on the intended results of composing it. But in the end...only you would know this
Best of luck!

I really like this. You should really finish it up, cause you have a really good beginning here.
And I prefer the C minor.

I really enjoyed listening to this piece. Has quite a dark feel to it, for some reason reminded me of the opening credits to a Tim Burton film!
I have to agree with the guys who preferred it in E Minor. It just somehow gives it more character in that key. Either way its great and hope you continue and finish it.
All the best
