Hi,
Good for you!
1. Get a good teacher. Ask around everyone you know for someone they would recommend. Check ads and websites. Find one that suits your music interests.
2. Get a good piano. An acoustic or digital- you decide. A good acoustic needs more maintenance and is heavier- but normally lasts longer and you can also find great second hand ones.
3. Schedule practicing times. A minimum of 30 min a day to begin with will give you good progress, but you need to stick to it!
4. Make your practice room/corner as inviting as possible.
5. Go to piano concerts, check out piano dvd's, or simply you tube for inspiration.
6. Listen to CD's with great piano performances.
7. Read books about piano playing to keep you inspired.
Have fun!

Depends on what music you want to play.

Gladly, If you'll elaborate a little more about yourself, your musical interests & goals
Without this info, I'll say probably the first step should be finding a piano teacher in your area and taking a few piano lessons.

Get a good teacher. Google piano lessons + your location or piano teacher + your location and see what comes up. Go and have some introductory lessons and see whom you like best.
Good luck!
