Hello all,

I'm currently a bass player but I'm looking to expand to a new instrument so that I can fight boredom. I've always been fascinated with piano and I'm looking to spend less than $600 on a digital keyboard to get into it.

I've been told the Casio Privia PX-130 is a solid choice for $499 (found it for $460 on Amazon which is a plus) but I've also read the hammer action on the keys can wear out easily and the keys can become loose. I doodled on one to see what it sounded like (really did me no good as I have no clue how to play) I liked it and I also enjoyed the clutterless look.

Any views on this keyboard or any recommendations?

Hi,
Playing piano 1,5 year now - started on casio px-100. Seemed good enough, untill I started taking lessons on accoustic piano... Suddenly it appeared, that the key's mechanics is much different - I had difficulties playing at school  :-\
After a year I have purchased yamacha clp 340 (similiar but cheaper is clp 330) - the problem dissapeared :)

As I mentioned in a previous post, the PX130 is not a favorite of mine because its speaker issues are blaring and glaring. I own the PX110 from two product generations back and was much more pleased with this keyboard than the current output. My mainstay are my Steinway pianos, but at night I do work out on the PX110.
